Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-07
This policy explains how FaithGuard ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal data when you use the Kenya portal at tryfaithguard.com and the FaithGuard apps. We process personal data in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, and the regulations of the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).
1. Who we are
FaithGuard is a faith-led digital protection platform for families and churches. For anything in this policy, contact us at support@faithguard.app.
2. What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and mobile number, entered when you start a trial or subscribe.
- Payment data: when you pay with M-Pesa we receive the M-Pesa receipt number, the paying phone number, the amount and the time of payment from Safaricom. We never see or store your M-Pesa PIN.
- Family profiles: the child profiles, age settings and rules you create in your dashboard.
- Protection data: to filter content, the app processes the web addresses and app names that protected devices request. We keep only the summaries you see in your family dashboard.
- Enquiries: the details you send us through the demo and contact forms.
- Technical data: device type, app version and basic diagnostics so the app keeps working.
3. Why we use it
- To provide the service you asked for: creating your account, activating your plan and filtering content on your devices.
- To send you receipts, trial reminders and service messages by SMS and email.
- To respond to your enquiries and support requests.
- To keep the service secure and to prevent fraud and abuse.
- With your consent, to tell you about new features. You can opt out at any time.
4. Children
FaithGuard is set up by parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children beyond the profile settings a parent creates, and we never build advertising profiles of children.
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with providers who help us run the service under contract, such as Safaricom (M-Pesa payments), our hosting provider and our form and email providers, and when the law requires it. Church partners see only aggregate numbers, never individual family activity.
6. Retention and security
We keep account data while your account is active and for up to 12 months afterwards, unless the law requires longer. Activity summaries are kept for 90 days. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
7. Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, object to processing and lodge a complaint with the ODPC. Email support@faithguard.app and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date above.
